See your entire publishing schedule at a glance
The Social Calendar is a visual read of every scheduled and posted piece of content, in month, week, or day view, filterable by platform. It's not a separate scheduling tool. It's a window onto the same content that lives in Content Pipeline.
This guide covers the views, filtering, item details, and how content actually gets onto the calendar via Posting Approvals.
Month, Week & Day Views
The Social Calendar shows scheduled and posted content in three layouts, switchable with a single toggle.
- Month view: a full month grid, each cell showing up to 3 items and a "+N more" label when there's more, plus a Plan link that appears on hover for empty days.
- Week view: the same grid style but scoped to one week, with room to show every item in a day rather than capping at 3.
- Day view: a simple list of everything scheduled for the selected date, with an item count at the top.
- Use the arrow buttons to move backward/forward (by month, week, or day depending on the active view), or click Today to snap back to the current date.
Filtering by Platform
A platform filter sits above the calendar with three options: All, Instagram, and YouTube.
- Filtering narrows what's shown across every view mode, not just the current one.
- The scheduled and posted counts shown in the sub-header update live to reflect whatever the current filter and date range include.
Viewing Item Details
Clicking any item, in any view, opens a detail popup without leaving the calendar page.
- The detail popup shows platform, post type, and status badges; a media preview (image or video); the caption; scheduled and due dates; and who created it.
- It ends with an "Open in Pipeline" link for jumping straight to the full item on the Content Pipeline board.
- In Month view, clicking a day cell (rather than a specific item) opens a day modal listing every item scheduled for that date. This is useful once a day has more than the 3 items shown inline.
How Approvals Feeds the Calendar
The Calendar only shows items with a scheduled date, and Posting Approvals is one of the two ways an item gets one.
- Content that's ready for a second look moves to In Review in Content Pipeline, which puts it on the Posting Approvals page.
- From there, an Owner or Admin can Approve it, setting a publish date/time at least 15 minutes from now, which moves the item to Scheduled and puts it on the Calendar immediately.
- Or they can Request changes, which requires a feedback note for the creator and sends the item back to Drafted, meaning it drops out of the approval queue and never reaches the calendar in that state.
- Other roles can view the Approvals queue but can't approve or reject. Those actions are restricted to Owners and Admins.
- Content Pipeline's "Schedule directly" shortcut is the other path onto the calendar. It sets a schedule straight from Drafted, skipping the Review/Approvals step entirely.
Frequently Asked Questions
What shows up on the Social Calendar?
Only content that has a scheduled date and time. Items still sitting in Idea/Draft or In Review with no schedule set don't appear on the calendar at all. It's purely a view of what's been given a publish time.
How do I get content onto the calendar?
Set a scheduled date/time on an item in Content Pipeline, either by moving it to Scheduled directly or by having it approved from Posting Approvals. Either path gives it a scheduledAt value, which is what puts it on the calendar.
What are the three calendar views?
Month, Week, and Day. Month and Week share the same grid layout; Day view lists everything scheduled for that single date. Switch between them with the view toggle, and use Today to jump back to the current date at any time.
Can I filter the calendar by platform?
Yes, the platform filter narrows the view to All, Instagram, or YouTube. It affects every view mode and also updates the scheduled/posted counts shown next to the date range.
What happens when I click a day with more than 3 items in Month view?
Month view cells only show up to 3 items directly, with a "+N more" label if there's more scheduled that day. Clicking the cell opens a day modal listing everything scheduled for that date, and clicking any item there opens its full detail.
How does the Calendar relate to Posting Approvals?
Approvals is the gate; Calendar is the result. Items sitting In Review show up on the Posting Approvals page. When an Owner or Admin approves one, they set its publish date and time (at least 15 minutes out) and it moves to Scheduled, at which point it appears on the Calendar. Rejecting an item instead sends it back to Drafted with a required note, and it never reaches the calendar in that state.
Who can approve or reject content from Approvals?
Only Owners and Admins. Other roles can still view what's awaiting approval on that page, but the Approve and Request changes buttons are only active for Owner/Admin accounts.
Can I open an item from the Calendar back in Pipeline?
Yes. Every item's detail popup on the Calendar has an "Open in Pipeline" link that takes you straight back to the board.
