How notifications work
BrandOps keeps two separate feeds: an Activity log of everything that changed across your workspace, and a Comments feed for pipeline discussion. On top of those sits an opt-in push notification layer for alerts that reach you outside the app.
The Activity tab
A rolling feed of the most recent actions taken across your organization: up to 80 events, newest first.
- Every entry has an action: Created, Updated, Deleted, Status Changed, Assigned, or Completed.
- Entity types covered include Tasks, Orders, Clients, Projects, Invoices, Subscriptions, Creators (Influencers), Campaigns, Websites, Returns, Issues, and Pipeline items, whatever exists for your business type.
- Each entry shows who did it, with an avatar built from their initials, and how long ago it happened.
- Where the entity type supports it, clicking an entry takes you straight to that record instead of leaving you to go find it.
- A website scan finishing shows up here too, with its score out of 100, rather than only being visible on the Website Intelligence page.
Push notifications
A separate, opt-in layer for alerts that reach you outside the app, even when BrandOps isn't open in a tab.
- A prompt offering to "Enable alerts" appears automatically after about 45 seconds in the dashboard, once per browser session, unless you've dismissed it before.
- Accepting requests your browser's notification permission and subscribes your device via a push subscription tied to your organization.
- Push alerts are gated to Growth plan and above. On Starter, accepting the prompt still asks your browser for permission, but BrandOps then unsubscribes it immediately and shows "Push alerts need Growth or higher" with a link to upgrade, so a Starter browser is never left half-subscribed.
- You can unsubscribe at any time; doing so removes your device's push subscription from BrandOps entirely.
- If your browser denies the permission outright, BrandOps shows a "Notifications blocked" message pointing you to your browser's own settings, since it has no way to override that from inside the app.
What's not in Notifications
A few related things live elsewhere on purpose, so it's worth knowing where to actually look.
- Website scan alerts and AI operational insights specific to a single brand surface on the main Dashboard, not just in the Activity feed.
- A full, filterable history of every change (with more detail than the Activity tab's rolling 80-event window) lives on the separate Audit Log page.
- Notifications is organization-wide, not per-brand: if your organization runs multiple brands, Activity and Comments both span all of them rather than filtering to just the one you're currently viewing.
Frequently Asked Questions
What shows up in the Notifications page?
Two tabs: Activity, which lists the most recent actions across your organization (up to 80 events, covering created, updated, deleted, status changed, assigned, and completed actions across Tasks, Orders, Clients, Projects, Invoices, Subscriptions, Creators, Campaigns, Websites, Returns, Issues, and Pipeline items), and Comments, which lists the most recent comments left on pipeline items (up to 50).
Is there a way to mark a notification as read?
No. The Activity and Comments tabs are simply the most recent events in your organization, not a per-user inbox with read/unread state. Anyone on the team sees the same list.
Can I click through from a notification to the thing it's about?
Yes, where a link makes sense. Each Activity entry resolves to a link based on its entity type, so an update to a Task, Order, Client, or Invoice takes you straight to that record.
What's the difference between Notifications and push notifications?
The Notifications page is always available and shows historical activity you pull up when you open it. Push notifications are a separate system layered on top: opt-in browser/device alerts that reach you even when BrandOps isn't open, for things like urgent orders and overdue tasks.
How do I turn on push notifications?
A prompt offering "Enable alerts" appears after you've spent about 45 seconds in the dashboard (once per browser session, unless dismissed). Accepting asks your browser for notification permission and subscribes your device. You can dismiss it instead with "Not now," and it won't reappear that session.
Are push notifications available on every plan?
No. Push alerts require Growth or higher. If you're on Starter and try to enable them, BrandOps unsubscribes the browser-level permission it just granted and shows "Push alerts need Growth or higher" with a link to upgrade, so your plan and your device stay in sync.
What if I deny the browser's notification permission?
The prompt tells you notifications are blocked and that you can re-enable them from your browser's own site settings, since BrandOps can't override a browser-level denial from its own UI.
