Setting up your Brand Kit
Logo, colours, fonts, and tone of voice: set once in your Brand Kit, then reused everywhere BrandOps needs to know what your brand looks and sounds like, from AI captions to creator briefs.
This guide covers every field in the Brand Kit and exactly how each one gets used.
Logo and Logomark
Two independent upload slots for the two shapes a logo actually gets used in.
- Logo is your full wordmark or lockup: what goes at the top of a creator brief or a document header.
- Logomark is an icon-only version, for square or small placements like a favicon.
- Both accept PNG, JPEG, WebP, or SVG, capped at 5 MB, uploaded by drag-and-drop or click.
- Either can be replaced or removed at any time. There's no approval step, it just overwrites the previous file.
Colours and fonts
Structured, not just a swatch grid: every colour and font carries metadata about how it's meant to be used.
- Each colour has a name, a hex code, and a role: primary, secondary, accent, background, text, or other.
- Each font has a name, a role (heading, body, or accent), and a source: Google Fonts, Adobe Fonts, Custom, or System.
- This structure is what lets the rest of BrandOps (and the AI) reason about your brand system instead of just listing hex codes with no context.
Tone of voice
The part of Brand Kit that shapes how your brand actually sounds, not just how it looks.
- Tone adjectives are short descriptors (e.g. "bold, playful") that set the overall voice.
- A free-text tone description (2-4 sentences) goes further, and is explicitly included in AI caption prompts and creator briefs. This is the field that most directly changes what the AI writes.
- Writing dos are phrases and language you want more of (e.g. "vibrant, real results"); writing don'ts are what to avoid (e.g. "cheap, discount"). Both feed the same AI brief.
- Caption examples are real past captions you paste in to show, not just tell, what your voice sounds like in practice.
Domains
A live domain-availability checker built into the Brand Kit, not a static wishlist.
- Checking runs live, so a domain marked available is genuinely available at the moment you looked, not a cached guess.
- Domains generated during onboarding's brand identity step carry straight into this same list, so nothing you saw there gets lost once onboarding finishes.
- Each suggestion can be copied with one click for pasting into your registrar of choice.
Where Brand Kit gets used
Brand Kit isn't a reference document that sits unread. It's wired directly into BrandOps's AI content tools.
- Colours, fonts, tone adjectives, tone description, writing dos/don'ts, and caption examples all assemble into a single brand brief that AI caption generation reads from.
- The same data is what a creator brief pulls from when you're prepping a brand for an influencer collaboration: one Brand Kit, reused everywhere it's needed instead of re-typed per brief.
- Because it's one record per brand, updating a colour or a tone adjective here updates it everywhere it's referenced. There's no separate copy to keep in sync.
Two doors, one Brand Kit
You don't have to remember whether you edited Brand Kit from the sidebar or from Settings. They're the same form.
- The dedicated Brand Kit page in the sidebar and Settings → Brand tab both render the identical Brand Kit editor component against the same underlying record.
- Settings → Brand also shows the Business type selector right above it, so business type and brand identity live in the same tab even though they're separate concerns.
- Only Owners and Admins can save changes; everyone else can view but not edit.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where do I find the Brand Kit?
Two places, same data: its own Brand Kit page in the sidebar, and Settings → Brand tab, which renders the identical BrandKitClient component. Editing in one place updates the other automatically since both read and write the same BrandKit record.
What's the difference between the Logo and Logomark upload slots?
They're two separate image uploads on the same Brand Kit: Logo for your full wordmark/lockup and Logomark for an icon-only version (e.g. for favicons or square placements). Each accepts PNG, JPEG, WebP, or SVG up to 5 MB.
What are the colour roles for?
Each brand colour you add gets a name, a hex value, and a role (primary, secondary, accent, background, text, or other), so anyone reading your brand kit (or the AI generating a caption) knows which colour to reach for in which context, not just that it exists.
What do writing dos and don'ts actually control?
They're free-form phrases (e.g. dos like "vibrant, real results", don'ts like "cheap, discount") that get folded into the brand brief used by AI caption generation, so the AI leans toward language you want and away from language you've flagged as off-brand.
Can I check if a domain name is available from inside Brand Kit?
Yes. The Domains section checks candidate domains live and shows them back with a status, so it's a real-time check rather than a static list.
Does everyone on my team see the same Brand Kit?
Yes, it's one record per brand. Everyone with access to that brand sees the same logo, colours, fonts, and tone of voice; only Owners and Admins can edit it.
Does Brand Kit only exist if I filled it in during onboarding?
No. The onboarding wizard's brand identity step is skippable, and even if you use it, everything it generates just becomes your starting Brand Kit. You can fill in, edit, or completely redo any part of it later from the Brand Kit page or Settings.
